Combat common skin concerns like lumps and bumps, eczema and psoriasis with top treatments available at Dr Anil’s clinics.
Lumps and Bumps are a common skin concern that can occur on any part of the body. They can be caused by a variety of factors, including infections, cysts, tumours, and inflammation.
Acne is a prevalent skin condition that causes blackheads and pimples which can cause lumps and bumps on the skin. This can affect people of all ages but is most commonly found in teenagers. Cysts are also a common condition whereby fluid-filled sacs form under the skin causing bumps. These cysts often develop due to infections and blockages of hair follicles or sweat glands.
Moles are dark spots found on the skin. They can be flat or raised and in most cases are usually benign. Moles arise where cells called melanocytes have clustered together. Melanocytes produce melanin pigment which gives your skin its colour. They may change shape or colour with time and some may even disappear. Moles are mostly harmless, however sometimes they can develop into skin cancer. Very large moles have a higher risk of developing skin cancer. Some are more likely to progress into a malignant melanoma (a type of skin cancer).
Dr Anil has extensive experience in evaluating and diagnosing lumps and bumps and moles. Dr Anil strongly recommends that clients book in for an immediate consultation if any new lumps or bumps are discovered or if a mole has changed shape or size.
Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is a chronic skin condition that causes itchy, red, and inflamed skin. It often appears as patches of dry, scaly skin on the face, arms, and legs. Eczema is not contagious and is often triggered by environmental factors, such as dry air, irritants, and allergies. It is most common in children, but can affect people of any age. People who are most at risk of developing eczema are usually prone to allergies of various kinds but it can also be genetically inherited. Environmental factors also play a role such as extremes in temperature.
Psoriasis is a common and chronic disease that causes red, itchy scaly patches most often found on the knees, elbows, trunk and scalp. Psoriasis can however be found anywhere on the body and often tends to go through cycles with symptoms flaring up for a few weeks or even months and then subsiding or going into remission.
Psoriasis can be caused by a number of factors, namely from genetics, stress and in some cases smoking. Psoriasis affects around 2 in 100 people in the UK but most often develops in adults between 20 and 30 years old and between 50 and 60 years old. That said, psoriasis can occur at any age and it affects both women and men equally.
Dr Anil is highly experienced in the treatment of both Psoriasis and Eczema. He can offer clients safe and effective treatment options using a combination of medications, such as topical creams, ointments, and lotions, as well as recommendations on lifestyle changes to successfully alleviate symptoms.
These are smaller benign growths that hang from the skin and are often located on the neck and armpit regions. Skin tags are very common and normally found around areas of friction such as the underarm. They are harmless but can be both unsightly and irritating for patients. Most benign skin concerns are no longer treated by the NHS.
Restore youthful looks and target wrinkles with Dr. Anil. Anti-wrinkle injections use a purified protein that works by relaxing overactive, wrinkle-causing muscles.
Anti-wrinkle injections use a purified protein that works by relaxing overactive, wrinkle-causing muscles. With less movement, the skin surface smoothes out. If the wrinkles have been there a long time (years) and are very deep, it may take time for them to smooth out. Newer wrinkles may look smoother within days after being treated. In addition, the treatment prevents the wrinkles from getting deeper, by relaxing the muscles and preventing the skin from getting creased more deeply.
Anti-wrinkle injections are also an effective treatment for migranes and sweating. Please get in touch to learn more.
Juvederm is a popular treatment for softening facial wrinkles or lines and can add more volume to any area of your face, such as your cheeks or lips. Juvederm is a sterile dermal filler gel that’s injected into the skin to smooth out wrinkles or scars, or anywhere on the face that need to be plumped or filled. The active ingredient is hyaluronic acid
Profhilo is the first BDDE-free stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity. It has one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market and is not only boosting and hydrating to the skin, but it also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue.
The product remains in the skin for around 28 days and during this time it encourages the stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin
Thread lifts tighten your skin by inserting medical-grade thread material into the face and then pull the skin up by tightening the thread. In addition to being ideal for lifting the skin, threads combat the ageing process in another way: by provoking the body’s natural “healing response” by causing the body to direct large surges of collagen to the treated areas. This is important because of the vital role collagen plays in the ageing process. The thread lift procedure rejuvenates, regenerates and lifts your skin.
Needles are inserted to the subcutaneous or SMAS layer of the skin, and when the needle is taken out, the dissolvable threads remain in the skin.
The end result is firmer, tighter and smoother skin with less winkles.
Anti-ageing Mesotherapy or Mesolift is a technique used for skin rejuvenation which consists of multiple injections of a cocktail of vitamins, anti-oxidants, amino-acids and Hyaluronic acid carried out in the superficial dermis (the middle layer of the skin) with a very fine needle.
This stimulates collagen, minimizes fine lines and wrinkles and creates skin radiance leaving it with a glowing complexion. The purpose is to heal and reverse skin ageing and damage. The concept is that it is better to deliver medications directly to the area being treated than to ingest them through a tablet.
When small amounts of medications are injected into the skin, the blood flow automatically increases to the treated area, bringing in with it increased nutrition and oxygen, this improving lymphatic drainage and removing toxins in the skin.
